How to Add and Format Text

Begin by logging into your site as an administrator. Mouseover the options menu arrow and select the "Edit Text" link.

 This will open Text FCKeditor Window.  You'll note that the controls look very much like those you will find in Microsoft Word and similar applications: 

 Below is a list of the controls, their defined functions and any associated standard keyboard shortcuts.

	Displays the HTML source code for the page.			Opens a new window and displays a preview of the page.
	Opens a list of content layout templates from which you can choose.			Highlight text you'd like to move and use this tool to cut the text	Ctrl + X
	Highlight any portion of your page and use this control to copy it to the clipboard.	Ctrl + C		Click on this control to paste any content that was copied to the clipboard.	Ctrl + V
	When you want to remove any formatting from copied content, this control will paste it as plain text.			This control will enable you to Paste from Word and retain its proprietary hidden code.
	Click on this contro to open a Print dialog window.	Ctrl + P		Check spelling.
	You've just done something you really didn't want to do... click on this control and undo it!	Ctrl + Z		You just hit the undo control and realized you want it after all... click on redo!
	Where did you put that word?  This control will help you find it.	Ctrl + F		Find that word or phrase and replace it with something else.
	Select all on the page.	Ctrl + A		Remove Format - similar to undo, but just for formatting.
	Highlight text and make it bold.	Ctrl + B		Highlight text and italicize it.	Ctrl + I
	HIghlight text and underline it.	Ctrl + U		Highlight text and strike through it.
	Highlight text and apply subscript formatting. It looks like this.			Highlight text and apply superscript formatting. It looks like this.
	Generateds numbered list formatting.			Generates bulleted list formatting.
	Remove or decrease indent			Create or increase indent
	Left Justify your text.			Center Justify your text.
	Right Justify your text.			Block Justify your text.
	Insert /or edit a hyperlink.	Ctrl + L		Highlight a hyperlink and click on this control to remove it.
	Anchors refer to hyperlinks that take you to another location on the same page.  Create anchors with this tool.			Open the Image Properties window where you can acces your Image Gallery and insert images on your page.
	Insert Flash files.			Insert and format tables.
	Sometimes you just need a little separation... click on this control and insert a horizontal line.			Insert a Smiley
	If a character in your font set isn't represented on the keyboard, you can insert special characters with this control.			Insert a Page Break.
	Maximize the display of your text editor on your screen.			About FCKeditor - the text editor for the internet.

Keeping in mind that the CSS of your skin template controls the overall appearance of your site, the following controls can be used to apply formatting exceptions. You are encouraged to use them sparingly.

After you have entered any desired text and images for your page, click on the "Update" link located towards the bottom of the text editor page.
